In anticipation of the film “A Normal Family,”Soo-hyun—widely recognized by her stage name Claudia Kim—held a press meeting at a cozy cafe located in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul.
This suspense thriller, “A Normal Family,”portrays the disintegration of a couple’s relationship after they witness CCTV footage from the scene of their children’s crime. The narrative is adapted from Herman Koch’s renowned novel “The Dinner.”In the film, Soo-hyun takes on the role of Ji-soo, who is married to Jae-wan, portrayed by Seol Kyung-gu. Jae-wan’s character is navigating life after the passing of his first wife.
An online resource noted that Soo-hyun faced challenges in her acting career during a three-year break starting in 2013, claiming she couldn’t find her direction before deciding to return while working at the headquarters of an NGO in Switzerland. However, Soo-hyun addressed these misstatements, asserting, “There are a lot of inaccuracies. I’m not sure where these rumors originate.” She elaborated, “I was involved with an NGO named Compassion and participated in performances such as singing and dancing, seeing it as my way to contribute. This included many actors like Yoo Ji-tae, but I never worked there.” Additionally, she clarified that she never had plans to step away from acting.
Furthermore, claims suggesting that Soo-hyun withdrew from a master’s program in Film Arts at Sejong University were proven incorrect. She remarked, “I’ve never attended graduate school. In fact, I have no idea where Sejong University is located. At that time, I was fully occupied with modeling. I completed my undergraduate studies through online classes due to my filming schedule for dramas.”
The film “A Normal Family”is scheduled to be released on October 16.
