It was disclosed that Girls’ Generation received the guide for “Red Flavor”for one of their albums. This title may be familiar to fans as Red Velvet’s popular 2017 track. The song was a major success, reaching the top of all major domestic charts and debuting at number four on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart.

As soon as Sooyoung listened to the guide for “Red Flavor,”she recognized its potential to become a hit and instantly fell in love with the song.

Despite Girls’ Generation originally being considered, “Red Flavor”ultimately went to Red Velvet due to repeated delays.

Considering the timeline, it becomes clear why they were unable to proceed with the promotions. The girl group was about to mark their tenth anniversary that year and had not made a proper comeback since 2015.

Instead of releasing “Red Flavor,”Girls’ Generation released their album “Holiday Night,”which featured lead singles “Holiday”and “All Night.”That same year, Sooyoung departed from SM Entertainment, and the members took a prolonged break from group promotions. It took them four years to regroup and an additional five years to release new music together.
