“Soulmate” Theatrical Re-release Under Discussion Due to “Byeon Woo-seok Syndrome”

On May 24th, the distribution company NEW confirmed that they are currently in talks with theaters regarding a re-release of the film ‘Soulmate’. The initial request for the re-release came from the theaters, and the company is currently working on coordinating specific schedules.

“The film “Soulmate”, which premiered in March of last year, explores the complexities of human connections through the story of two friends who first met at the age of 13. Over the course of 14 years, their relationship was marked by moments of reunion and separation, friendship and romance, and feelings of yearning and envy. The film garnered a total of 230,000 viewers.”

Despite being released a year ago, the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama “Lovely Runner”featuring Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon gained immense popularity, solidifying Byeon Woo-seok’s position as the rising star of romantic comedies. As a result, there has been renewed interest in “Soulmate”and talks about possibly re-releasing it.
