Soyeon’s highly-anticipated photoshoot, released on July 25th, showcased her intense gaze and bold poses, instantly captivating attention. Despite her petite stature, she effortlessly exuded a cool and chic style like a seasoned model, earning praise and enthusiasm from the staff on set.
As the leader and producer of (G)I-DLE, Soyeon considers herself to be a regular creator despite her continued success in creating hit songs. She believes that everyone has similar intuition and that trends emerge because of our shared thoughts and desires. Soyeon humorously adds that she is not as niche as people may assume. When discussing her appeal to the public, she clarifies that her goal is not to convey a profound personal philosophy or worldview, but rather to provide entertainment. She explains that life can be mundane and challenging, and as an entertainer, she simply wants to offer something enjoyable to the public. Soyeon responded to the question with a clever response, showcasing her professionalism.
Soyeon also expressed her fondness for their current summer song, “Klaxon.”She elaborated, stating that “Klaxon”serves as a representation of expressing one’s emotions loudly. The song is a form of shouting, “Let the car leave, I love you baby.”The main character in “Klaxon”is someone that I find very endearing. She possesses a level of honesty that may make others question her actions. She may not be popular among men, and some may even see her as peculiar or “cringy.”Imagine a girl with short, spiky hair, sporting a sleeveless top, and donning jeans that reveal a bit of her stomach, cruising in an old convertible.
“When questioned about individuals she views as brave and resilient, Soyeon immediately thought of her bandmate, Miyeon. She admires Miyeon for her ability to not dwell on unknown or future circumstances. Soyeon believes that this quality showcases great strength. Being around such individuals brings her a sense of security and stability, which is why she feels at ease when with Miyeon. When asked if she possesses the same strength, Soyeon chuckled and admitted, “I am actually quite fragile. My vivid imagination often causes me to become easily frightened.”
For Soyeon, the concept of “fun”revolves around engaging in meaningful conversations with someone who shares a strong connection with her. She believes that simply sitting and talking can produce a rush of dopamine and make any moment enjoyable. To her, it is the most crucial aspect of life as it provides comfort and allows one to experience things indirectly. Soyeon values this quality in anyone, be it a friend, a senior, or a junior, and believes that it should be cherished (laughs).
Finally, after the interviewer expressed a desire for (G)I-DLE to continue their performances even in their old age, Soyeon enthusiastically responded, “I plan on being a part of (G)I-DLE until the end of my days. I hope to continually surprise people with our diverse music and perhaps even venture into trot someday!”She laughed joyfully.
