The Space Marines are renowned as the Imperium’s most skilled warriors, but players are not expected to possess the same level of prowess as genetically enhanced superhumans. Therefore, Space Marine 2 provides a variety of difficulty settings for players to customize their battle against the Xenos.
Continuing the story of the Ultramarines, Space Marine 2 depicts the relentless struggle against the invading Tyranid forces. These extraterrestrial creatures have a voracious appetite and it is your duty, along with your comrades, to eliminate them before they can destroy any more planets.
In order to successfully eliminate the overwhelming number of enemies in this third-person shooter, players will face a challenging task. This requires selecting the appropriate difficulty level to ensure an enjoyable experience in the dystopian future.
All difficulty settings in Space Marine 2
Space Marine 2 offers four levels of difficulty: Easy, Normal, Veteran, and Angel of Death.
Simple
The Easy mode in Space Marine 2 reduces the aggressiveness of enemies and significantly boosts your base Armour and Health stats. It is the ideal mode for those who are primarily interested in the game’s storyline, as it eliminates the need to manage resources and fear death at the hands of the Tyranids.
Normal
Most players will likely opt for Space Marine 2’s Normal mode. The enemies are moderately aggressive, requiring players to carefully manage their health and ammo resources before engaging in combat. It is important to have a plan before diving into battles.
Military Service
According to Space Marine 2, the intended experience is the Veteran mode. This is due to the heightened aggression of enemies, requiring players to strategize in order to defeat them. Those attempting this mode should have some experience with completed FPS games.
Angel of Death
The most challenging difficulty mode in Space Marine 2 is Angel of Death, specifically designed for the most skilled players. In this mode, enemies are tougher and the risk of death is significantly higher. Choose this option if you enjoy a fast-paced demise or love the adrenaline rush of Soulslike gameplay.
Which Difficulty Mode Should You Choose?
Space Marine 2 can be challenging for all levels of difficulty
Although Normal may appear to be the obvious choice, our experience showed that the Normal mode proved to be more challenging than anticipated. Therefore, if you anticipate difficulties, it is recommended to begin with Easy. Conversely, if the game is too easy, the Normal mode is a suitable alternative.
It is worth noting that once you have started a game, the difficulty level cannot be altered. Therefore, if the game is too challenging or too simple, you will need to restart.
