“Spicy” surprises in Pokémon Go Battles appeal to players

Pokémon Go players are praising other Battle League competitors for assembling “spicy” teams that keep the action interesting.

The GO Battle League allows players around the world to compete against other Trainers level 10 and above to earn rewards and climb the global leaderboards.

Thus, the competitive feature invites players to test their combat tactics, specifically by assembling winning teams capable of taking on difficult matches.

Some team compositions represent safer bets than others, as Pokémon Go users have discovered which Pokémon complement each other best on the battlefield. However, from time to time, interesting Super League team compositions manage to surprise even veteran players.

I just want to shout out the people who play interesting/spicy teams in GBL. byu/fraggle_captain inpokemongo

Reddit user fraggle_captain drew attention to this phenomenon in a recent post, specifically highlighting a “spicy” Super League team composition that impressed them.

In one match, the Redditor fought a team consisting of Mistigrix, Lestombaile and Avaltout. “It was fantastic because I had absolutely no idea what charged attacks to expect,” they explained.

The unexpected confrontation made the action “more fun,” the user said, adding that it also reminded them of some creature attacks they rarely face.

Other Pokémon Go Battle League players joined the conversation to say that they, too, like variety. One person said, “I like variety! That’s why I like special cuts. It keeps the game fresh and fun.” The same user then shared his favorite mix of Togedemaru, Dedenne and Azumarill.

Someone else said they like seeing different team compositions because some teams have become way too common. “I love it when people have totally random teams too, it gets really boring always facing Laggron, legendaries and dragons.”
