Squid Game Costume Incident: Man Tased by Police After Approaching with Knife

An unnamed man dressed in a Squid Game costume was tased after confronting a police officer while brandishing a knife.

Authorities in Australia are appealing for witnesses after a man wielding a knife was seen wearing an outfit similar to those of characters from Netflix’s hit series ‘Squid Game.’

At approximately 11:40 p.m. on September 5, bystanders reported a 38-year-old man boarding a train at platform 24 at Sydney’s Central Station. When police officers entered the carriage, they approached the man, who was allegedly armed with a knife.

As stated by the police, the man “advanced towards” a female officer from NSW, prompting her to use a taser on him. He was subsequently arrested and transported to Prince of Wales Hospital for evaluation.

“Police will allege the man was in possession of a knife and advanced towards an officer,” police said. “The officer deployed her taser and the man was arrested without further incident.”
