According to a report from KBS on May 28th, a broadcast appearance regulation review committee was held on May 13th, in which it was decided to suspend the channel’s appearance of Oh Young-soo. In February, KBS advised Oh Young-soo not to make any appearances on the show “About Family,”in which he was a lead actor. However, after three months, the channel escalated its decision to suspend his appearances.
Oh Young-soo was initially sentenced to one year in prison for sexual harassment during his first trial. He was indicted for forcibly harassing a woman (A) in August 2017, and although he denied the accusation, the prosecution later requested a one-year prison sentence for Oh. During the final hearing, the prosecution argued that Oh had distorted his desires by stating, “I see you as a woman,”while at a drinking party with the victim in 2017.
In October 2022, Shin Hye-sung, a former member of the group Shinhwa, was arrested for refusing to take a breathalyzer test under the Road Traffic Act at Tancheon Bridge 2 in Songpa-gu, Seoul. According to the police, Shin Hye-sung was stopped in the middle of the road in Songpa-gu and was asked to take a breathalyzer test, but he refused and was subsequently arrested. This was not the first time that Shin Hye-sung had been involved in a drunk driving incident, as he had previously been punished for a similar offense in April of the previous year. On August 26 of the same year, during an episode of KBS 2TV’s “Mr. House Husband Season 2,” Shin Hye-sung’s appearance was pixelated. In the episode, a music video featuring Shinhwa was shown, and Shin Hye-sung’s image in the video was also blurred.
KBS suspended former child actress Kim Sae-ron from appearing on TV. On May 18, 2022, she was arrested by police for driving under the influence of alcohol near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and hitting street trees and facilities multiple times. At the time, instead of measuring her blood alcohol level at the scene, Kim Sae-ron requested a blood test. The test confirmed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2%, which exceeds the legal limit of 0.08%. As a result, she was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act and fined 20 million won in her first trial in April of last year. She chose not to appeal and the fine was upheld.
Furthermore, KBS announced the suspension of composer Don Spike, actor Ha Jung-woo, and former iKON member B.I. from appearing on the network on December 21, 2022.
