Squid Game Season 2 Trailer: Gi-hun Back in Action with Exciting New Challenges

The trailer for Squid Game season 2 has been released, featuring Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) as he returns to the harrowing games. Despite having won and survived the brutal contests in the first season, Gi-hun finds that his journey is far from over. Instead of boarding a plane to reunite with his daughter, he turns back, vowing to dismantle the games and confront the Front Man (portrayed by Lee Byung-hun). In this upcoming season, Gi-hun seeks revenge against those who have wronged him and countless others.

As part of Geeked Week, Netflix has launched a new trailer for season 2, showcasing Gi-hun awakening to find the Front Man at his door. Watch the trailer below:

The teaser illustrates the Front Man’s continued control over the games, now without the involvement of their original creator, Oh Il-nam (played by O Yeong-su). The guards are seen preparing a series of seemingly innocent yet lethal competitions.

1. What The Trailer Indicates For Squid Game Season 2?

The surreal nature of the clip is amplified by Gi-hun’s waking moments at both the beginning and conclusion of the footage.

It remains uncertain whether the Front Man is truly at Gi-hun’s door, if Gi-hun has rejoined the games as Player 456, or if he is trapped in nightmares stemming from the trauma of season 1. Simply re-entering the games might not provide Gi-hun with the upper hand for revenge, as he will find himself vulnerable and at the mercy of the Front Man and his henchmen.

Gi-hun may need to explore an alternative strategy to undermine the Front Man, potentially by infiltrating the ranks as one of the guards. If this is the case, Gi-hun could be one of the masked guards depicted in the trailer, using his guise to destabilize the operations from within.

In addition to the enigma surrounding Gi-hun, the trailer also hints at the new challenges awaiting the players, one of which features a pair of circular rainbows. These vibrant colors add a disconcerting contrast to the violence that occurs.
