Upon your arrival at Wild Island in STALKER 2, you may find yourself quite far from Zalyssia and the Slag Heap, making the journey back rather uninviting. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of Wild Island are not very welcoming nor eager to engage in trade with you. In this article, we will discuss how to effectively trade on Wild Island and pinpoint the location of the elusive Merchant NPC known as Quiet.
Understanding Trading Mechanisms in Wild Island
One of the challenges you will face while exploring Wild Island is the restriction on trading with shops there, which prevents you from acquiring valuable Monolith gear right away. Even after you advance through the main storyline, the shopkeepers will remain closed off to the idea of trading. To gain their trust and open up trade options, you must complete several side quests first.
Your best trading option initially will be the Soldiers stationed around the area. However, they only offer a limited number of 700 Coupons each, which may not suffice for your needs. Fortunately, some NPCs can guide you towards the Merchant known as Quiet, who is more than willing to trade with Stalkers.
Finding Quiet: The Merchant NPC
To locate Quiet, simply head directly south from the Wild Island base. He operates on the opposite side of the river. As you traverse the landscape, you’ll encounter two abandoned trains heading south, which cross the river.
You can navigate by jumping across the train carriages to reach the other side, but exercise caution to avoid drowning in the deep waters below. Once you’ve crossed the trains, the first building on the right hosts Quiet’s base and shop. Inside, you can engage in trading just like with other vendors throughout the game. Alternatively, you could make your way from Zalyssia by heading east to find the same base.
Now you’re equipped with everything you need to know about Quiet’s location and the trading process in STALKER 2. Happy trading!
