In Stalker 2, engaging in both main and side missions provides players with diverse choices, each influencing various aspects of the gameplay. Sometimes, you may find yourself unable to access certain areas, leading you to believe that there is a bug. However, these situations can often be part of the game’s design. Still, during the Hot on the Trail mission, there are at least two instances that are likely genuine bugs.
This guide aims to assist you in resolving the bugs that may arise during the Hot on the Trail mission in Stalker 2.
Encountering the Noontide Base Bug in Hot on the Trail Mission
Your primary objective in the Hot on the Trail mission is to reach the Noontide base. However, you may encounter an NPC named Stone blocking your progress at the gates.
If during the Back to the Slag Heap mission you sided with the Wards by showing the Unusual PDA to Colonel Korshunov, you will receive a Ward Badge. Presenting this badge to Stone will grant you access.
Conversely, if you decided to show the Unusual PDA to Scar instead, you won’t be able to enter through the gate. While this situation may seem like a hindrance, it is actually an intentional element of the game’s design.
If you find yourself unable to enter the Noontide base, your next step is to return to the Sawmill. There, an NPC named MUTE will provide a side quest. Completing this quest will ultimately allow you entrance to the Noontide base, even without the Ward Badge during the Hot on the Trail mission.
Upon arriving at the Sawmill, you may notice that the NPCs have seemingly transformed into zombies, with MUTE nowhere in sight. In this case, it is advisable to reload a save from before you reached the Sawmill.
After reloading, ensure you exhaust all dialogue options with Scar, and then exit through the main entrance. Outside, you should find MUTE; speak with him and take on the side quest he offers. This will enable you to enter the Noontide base.
Inductor Not Appearing in the Room Bug During Hot on the Trail Mission
Later on in the Hot on the Trail mission, you will be tasked by Professor Lodochka to retrieve an Inductor from the underground section of the Waste Processing facility. You will need to defeat the Controller within the Boiler Room to access this area.
To find the Inductor, locate a white door in the hallway after navigating through a crack in the wall. It is usually placed on the middle shelf of the central compartment. However, some players have reported that the Inductor is missing from this room.
If you discover that the Inductor is absent, it is likely a bug affecting the Hot on the Trail mission. Fortunately, there is a straightforward remedy: save your game, exit the application, and then reopen it. After reloading your saved game and entering the room once more, the Inductor should appear on the middle shelf.
It’s that simple!
