Star and Stripe’s debut in the first episode of My Hero Academia Season 7 was met with much discussion about the effectiveness of her powers.
The excitement surrounding My Hero Academia Season 7 was largely due to the introduction of Star and Stripe. As the top Pro Hero from the United States, her appearance in the Season 6 finale, where she joined the fight against Shigaraki, left fans eager to see her in action.

Currently, Star and Stripe and Shigaraki are engaged in an incredible battle, although some anime viewers who are not familiar with the manga are questioning the former’s Quirk. Star and Stripe’s power allows her to manipulate reality by giving direct commands, causing a disruption in the balance of the fight.
According to a comment on Reddit, Star’s quirk is incredibly powerful. It was expected that she would be strong, being the top hero in her country, but having the ability to manipulate reality puts her on a whole other level of overpowered. Another comment adds that a quirk with reality warping abilities seems extremely broken, as there have been other quirks with similar abilities (like Overhaul and Momo’s creation abilities) that have limitations, but a mere verbal rule is unbelievable.
Conversely, manga enthusiasts have been highlighting this scene as somewhat absurd in order to keep expectations in check. “When the manga fans were boasting about how overpowered Star’s quirk is, they were not exaggerating. Goodness gracious, it’s no surprise she’s considered the top hero in America,”another Reddit user comments.
The concern now arises over the potential strength of the Quirk should Shigaraki successfully obtain it. Without revealing too many details, it can be inferred that Deku will ultimately be the one to end this battle, placing Star and Stripe in a precarious situation.
