After the triumph of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in 2023, the Star Wars franchise is continuing to grow with the highly-anticipated release of Star Wars Outlaws in 2024. Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment will bring fans a fresh narrative, new characters, and an immersive open-world setting.
Star Wars Outlaws release date
Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024.
Furthermore, gamers who pre-order the Gold or Ultimate Edition will receive early access to the game, up to three days prior to the global release date.
Star Wars Outlaws Available Platforms
The highly anticipated game Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft will be available for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The release for this new title in the Star Wars franchise will not include last-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It will not be available on Xbox Game Pass, but players with Ubisoft+ will still have access to it.

Star Wars: Outlaws Story & Gameplay Details
Star Wars Outlaws takes place during the time frame between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Gamers will have the opportunity to embody the role of Kay Vess, a rebellious protagonist in the game. Together with her trusted companion, Nix, she will battle against crime syndicates and endeavor to successfully execute a daring robbery.
Throughout the game, players will come across a variety of characters, including Jaylen, who is inspired by the iconic Han Solo. In addition, players will encounter well-known creatures and robots from the Star Wars universe such as Rancors, AT-STs, and combat droids like IG-11.
This game takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, specifically between 3 ABY and 4 ABY (After Battle of Yavin).
The story will follow Kay Vess and her companion Nix.
Gameplay details
Star Wars Outlaws is a third-person shooter set in an expansive open-world. From gameplay reveals, it is evident that players will have access to a Speeder for traversing the world, a wide array of weapons to select from, and even binoculars to aid in identifying enemies and executing stealth attacks.
In addition to traversing hidden caves and crossing canyons, you will have access to a grappling hook, similar to the one used by Lara Croft in Rise of the Tomb Raider. Furthermore, Nix possesses a sonar ability that can assist in locating intriguing items to collect during your exploration.
In addition, Nix’s assistance goes beyond that, as the sonar provides visibility of nearby enemies, aiding in executing a surprise attack. He will even leap onto their heads to divert their attention while you approach them.
In addition, weapons will feature alternate fire modes that can be utilized to destroy rocks and inflict more damage on your adversaries. The surroundings also contain a variety of explosive barrels and traps that can be employed to harm enemies and navigate through crowded areas with greater ease.
While traversing space, you will have access to a Trailblazer ship that can be upgraded, customized, and used for combat.
Star Wars Outlaws will be open world.
Character Creation & Customization
In Star Wars Outlaws, the story is predetermined with a main character and therefore, it is not possible to create or alter any characters. However, Kay Vess will offer the option for customization.
There is a variety of outfits for Kay Vess that offer buffs and abilities. It is currently unclear if customization options will be available for Nix, but there are extensive plans to modify your ship.
One of the initial missions that has been unveiled is acquiring a turret for the Trailblazer, suggesting that as you advance further, additional enhancements for your vessel will become available.
