Starfield has a system for stealing spaceships, however, some players are frustrated because this activity does not earn them enough money.
Starfield is a huge game with many activities to undertake. You can explore the cosmos, travel to various planets, undertake missions, or become a pirate and steal spaceships. However, stealing a spaceship is a dangerous task and you would expect to be rewarded accordingly.
Unfortunately, players are frustrated because stealing ships turns out to be pointless, with the money you receive being mediocre.
Starfield players convinced low rewards for stealing ships are a sign of poor game design
The discussion was started on Reddit by player DARK_YIMAIN. He said he was surprised that there was almost no profit from flying spaceships. Indeed, the reward is 2000 credits, which he considers to be “pocket money” .
The player believes this whole situation is a sign of poor game design on Bethesda’s part.
I can’t believe stealing ships doesn’t make any money in this game… What were they thinking??? byu/DARK_YIMAIN inStarfield
The post received a mixed response. One Reddit user focused on the fact that selling stolen spaceships to legitimate sellers should result in an arrest. However, he also believes that players “should be able to trade stolen ships to the Scarlet Fleet vendor for a nice profit.”
One player noted that the game doesn’t seem to “support chaotic or evil RP.””It seems like the purpose of stealing ships is more for the XP and loot. Even to use them rather than resell them for credits,” he said. This is something Starfield players have been complaining about the game for quite a while.
Finally, one of the users pointed out that stealing ships should also be more difficult. In fact, it’s really very easy. This has led some players to come up with interesting ideas to make the task more difficult. One player suggested: “When you board a hostile ship, it triggers a self-destruct countdown.”
Perhaps Bethesda will listen to ideas from Starfield players to make flying ships more fun and interesting.
