The opening of this restaurant was a heartfelt tribute to Gloria Santana, who had sadly lost her battle with breast cancer. Her two adult children, Julio and Aldelvi Santana, launched the restaurant in her memory.
To honor her memory, the restaurant focuses on serving Puerto Rican cuisine that highlights their culture and heritage in New York City.
Julio and Aldelvi incorporated multiple dishes that Gloria personally created onto the menu. These dishes, such as pork chops, trifungo, empanadas, and mofongo de yuca, are available for guests to order.
In honor of Gloria, the restaurant was launched and Gordon made sure to keep the recipes that were already in place without making any major changes.
