Despite only joining the company three months prior to Yu Ri, Eun Ho quickly became her colleague and friend in the drama. Eun Ho, having witnessed many colleagues leave due to their harsh superior, made a strong effort to convince Yu Ri to stay at the company and continue working alongside him. As their relationship deepened in the fourth episode, Yu Ri opened up to Eun Ho, confiding in him about her decision to remain single and not get married due to her father’s infidelity. The two bonded over their shared family stories and perspectives on marriage while enjoying drinks together.
After their night of heavy drinking, the couple decides to continue the party at a hotel. The next morning, Yu Ri wakes up to the realization that she and her colleague had a one-night stand. Horrified by her actions while under the influence, Yu Ri quickly gets dressed and leaves the hotel, determined to maintain a professional relationship with Eun Ho at work.
Despite the couple’s seemingly adorable colleague dynamic, their relationship has faced numerous criticisms from viewers. This is largely due to the fact that “Good Partner”was originally marketed as a film centered around women’s relationships and the challenges they face following a divorce.
Furthermore, as previously stated, Yu Ri’s parents’ failed marriage has left her deeply traumatized and she has no desire to enter into matrimony. The hasty development of this workplace romance gives the impression that the writer is disregarding the character’s feelings and personal beliefs. Moreover, the romantic relationship between the two is deemed irrelevant as Yu Ri’s current focus should be on healing herself and providing support to her colleague, Cha Eun Kyung (Jang Nara), who is also struggling with feelings of betrayal.
