Despite being traded to the Houston Texans on Wednesday, Stefan Diggs’ jab at a fan before the trade raises an intriguing question about his former teammate, Josh Allen.
During the past four years, Diggs played for the Buffalo Bills where he caught passes from pro-bowl quarterback Josh Allen. Throughout this time, the 30-year-old wide receiver was a leader in the NFL for both receptions and receiving yards in 2020 and was twice recognized with All-Pro honors.
Despite having disagreements with the Bills’ front office, the recent addition to the Texans roster, as reported by the New York Post, has caused a stir in the NFL community. However, there is one Bills fan who fails to recognize the significant role that Diggs played in quarterback Allen’s success.
Adam Schefter of ESPN retweeted a post from an individual known as ThePeakyPirate, who raised concerns about Diggs’ role in Buffalo. However, the Pro Bowler responded in a modest and self-deprecating manner.
According to the Tweet, while having a top tier receiver may benefit Josh, it is not essential to his success.
“Are you certain?”Diggs responded.

The exchange was not simply a verbal disagreement. It may have played a role in Diggs being traded to Houston, according to statements made by Pat McAfee on his ESPN show.
“Without any of this being said,”McAfee chuckled, “I doubt the Houston Texans would consider adding Stefon Diggs.”

The addition of Diggs to the lineup in 2020 proved to be a major turning point for the Bills, resulting in significant improvement. This positive change also had a significant impact on Allen’s performance. Prior to Diggs’ arrival, the quarterback had only managed a career-high of 3,089 passing yards.
Since Diggs joined, Allen’s yardage has significantly increased to 4,544 yards and his completion percentage has risen by more than 10 percent.
Despite the absence of the University of Maryland product on the outside, there will still be close scrutiny on Allen to determine if he truly possesses the elite skills that his statistics have displayed over the past four years.
There will also be high expectations for Diggs, as many will be watching to see if he can lead the Texans alongside C.J. Stroud and the rest of the team to Super Bowl contention.
