Accessing Your TikTok Profile
To begin, open the TikTok app and tap the profile icon located in the bottom right corner. For desktop users, hover over your profile picture in the upper right corner and select My Profile from the dropdown menu.
Changing Your Profile Picture
For app users, press and hold your profile image to bring up a menu. From there, choose the Change Photo option. If you’re using a computer, click the Edit Profile button adjacent to your profile picture, then select the image itself.
Choosing Your New Picture
Once you reach the selection screen, you may be prompted to permit TikTok access to your photos if you’re using the app. You can either grant complete access or choose specific images. Ideally, opt for a picture sized 100×100 pixels or a video that is at least 6 seconds long with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels.
On a desktop, you will see a file menu pop up, allowing you to navigate and select your new profile picture.
Finalize Your New Profile Picture
Adjust the chosen image as necessary to ensure it fits well within the circular profile frame. Once you’re satisfied, you have the option to post the photo to your Story as well. If you prefer to keep it private, uncheck the option below your image before saving.
If using a desktop, zoom in as needed to ensure your picture fits perfectly, then simply press Apply once you’re pleased with the result.
After saving, return to your profile to see your new picture. If it doesn’t appear immediately, give it a few moments, as updates can take some time. Should the photo still not be visible, repeat the process to resolve any issues.
