Step-by-Step Guide to Changing Servers in Throne and Liberty

As a massively multiplayer online game (MMO), selecting the right server is crucial in Throne and Liberty. If you aim to enjoy gameplay with friends or engage with a vibrant guild, being on the correct server is essential.

While acquiring powerful weapons and avoiding annoying errors are important, nothing surpasses the significance of discovering the ideal server to play alongside friends or join that thriving guild.

At the game’s outset, you’ll be prompted to select a server from an array of options. There’s always the possibility that you might choose incorrectly, requiring a change. Fortunately, there’s a way to rectify this.

How to Change Servers

Fortunately, switching servers in Throne and Liberty is quite straightforward; however, you’ll need to purchase a ticket, in true T&L fashion.

  1. Acquire a Server Transfer Ticket.
  2. Meet necessary requirements.
  3. Navigate to the Main Store and select Change Servers.
  4. Choose your preferred server.

Step 1 – Buy a Server Transfer Ticket

Similar to altering your appearance in Throne and Liberty, you must purchase a Server Transfer Ticket to change servers. Currently, these tickets are free, as opposed to costing 750 Lucent.

Step 2 – Meet the Requirements

Before changing your server in Throne and Liberty, ensure you fulfill several essential requirements. Although these will only become relevant later on, it is advisable to check that you meet the following criteria as soon as possible.

Once you access this option, you’ll be presented with a selection of different servers to choose from. Be sure to select diligently. While two options are currently available, it’s wise to keep one ticket in your inventory for potential future use.

Should You Choose an Early Access or Launch Server?

It’s interesting to note that the server selection is contingent on when your character was created. If you participated in the early access phase and created a character, you can only access the Early Access servers with that character.

Conversely, if your character was made after the official launch of Throne and Liberty, you can only join Launch Servers. Characters made in one phase aren’t transferable to the other.

So, if you were active during the early access period and wish to join friends who just started playing, you’ll likely need to create a new character.

Which Server Should You Choose?

There are plenty of servers available in Throne and Liberty, but if you’re aiming to play without friends, we recommend selecting the server closest to your geographical location.

Opting for a server near your area ensures lower ping rates and minimized lag over time.

Additionally, you should consider a server’s activity level. A busy server might offer more players to interact with but could be challenging to access regularly. Conversely, a quieter server may allow easy access initially, but it may lack longevity compared to more active ones.
