Step-by-Step Guide to Installing Mods in Factorio 2.0 | Factorio Space Age

Factorio 2.0 offers a plethora of mods that significantly enhance gameplay or deliver transformative quality-of-life features. Many players find it hard to enjoy the game without these innovative Factorio mods. Following the release of Factorio 2.0 Space Age, the developers incorporated numerous features into the core game. Despite this, exciting new mods continue to emerge, and below is a guide on where to find and how to install them in Factorio 2.0.

To start downloading mods for Factorio, head over to the Mod Portal on the official Factorio website. You will need to either create a new Factorio account or connect your Steam account using the Steam API feature on the site. This will automatically link your Factorio account to Steam, allowing you to begin downloading your favorite mods.

Launch Factorio and locate the Mods tab from the main menu. This section will display the currently active mods along with any DLC like Space Age.

To add mods, navigate to the Explore tab within the mods window where you can browse all the community-uploaded mods. If you wish to uninstall any mods, revisit the mods window from the main menu. Navigate to the “Manage” tab, where you’ll see a list of all installed mods. You can deselect the checkbox next to the mod you wish to remove or delete it entirely by clicking on the trash icon in the top-right corner of the window.

Once you’ve sorted through your mods, you may either start a new game or load an existing save file. The installed mods will function even on saved games that were initially started without them.
