The highly anticipated Genshin Impact 5.1 has officially launched on all platforms, bringing exciting new gameplay, treasures to collect, and characters to discover. Despite miHoYo’s attempts to enhance the update process, many players still encounter numerous challenges using the HoYoPlay launcher. To avoid these problems, consider updating Genshin Impact 5.1 manually.
How to Manually Update Genshin Impact 5.1
By manually downloading the required update files, you minimize your reliance on the launcher and can utilize a download manager of your choice. The patch files you will download function similarly to those used by the launcher to connect with miHoYo servers, and we do not provide private hosting for these files.
Patch Files for Genshin Impact 5.1
To get started, download the necessary patch files for version 5.1. It’s recommended to use a third-party download manager instead of your browser to handle the downloads. To prevent any corruption, download each file individually.
Make sure you obtain the Patch file along with at least one audio file pack. Choose the audio pack that matches your system’s default language settings.
Download Links | File Size |
---|---|
Patch 5.1 for Genshin Impact | 18 GB |
Chinese Audio Pack | 550 MB |
English Audio Pack | 522 MB |
Japanese Audio Pack | 608 MB |
Korean Audio Pack | 526 MB |
Once you have completed the downloads, follow these steps to update to version 5.1.
Step 1: Update the HoYoPlay Launcher
Launch HoYoPlay, allowing it to automatically update itself to the latest version available.
Step 2: Start the Update and Pause It
Click the Update button, then pause the process after a few moments.
Step 3: Exit the Launcher Completely
Ensure the launcher is not running in the background. Close it fully and check the taskbar for any active instances.
Step 4: Remove the Chunk Folder from your Genshin Impact Game Directory
Navigate to the installation folder of Genshin Impact on your computer. Typically, the default path is:
C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\
In the Genshin Impact Game directory, locate and delete the Chunk folder, which contains the partial download files.
Step 5: Move Zip Files to the Genshin Impact Game Directory
Transfer all the zip files you just downloaded, including the 5.1 patch file and the audio packs, into the Genshin Impact Game directory at the preceding location or wherever you have installed the game.
C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\
Step 6: Relaunch the Launcher and Apply the Update
After inserting the files, open the launcher and click the Update button to install the new patch. The launcher will process the files, and you should be ready to play in no time.
While you could optionally extract the files, it is unnecessary as the launcher will automatically recognize everything.
