Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking and Using the Hoverpack in Satisfactory

The Hoverpack is an essential late-game backpack equipment item in Satisfactory that allows players to fly around their factories, significantly streamlining the building process.

No matter how well you design your base, it will eventually evolve into a complex web of production lines. While the Jetpack is handy for quick travel, it becomes a hassle when you unexpectedly run out of fuel mid-air.

Conversely, the Hoverpack is governed by Power Poles, train rails, and other powered structures, making it much more reliable. Although it doesn’t provide the freedom of full flight, you’ll never find yourself stranded in mid-air due to a lack of fuel.

How to Unlock the Hoverpack

To unlock the Hoverpack in Satisfactory, advance to Tier 7 and conduct research using the MAM (Molecular Analysis Machine). After unlocking it, you can then proceed to craft this handy equipment.

The ultimate factory mobility tool.

The Hoverpack is relatively affordable to craft, especially considering the convenience it offers for factory building in Satisfactory. You will need the following materials:

  • 8 Motors
  • 4 Heavy Modular Frames
  • 8 Computers
  • 40 Alclad Aluminum Sheets

Once you have collected these materials, proceed to the Equipment Workshop to create your Hoverpack.

To begin, equip the Hoverpack by opening your inventory and dragging it onto your character’s back. Using the Hoverpack is straightforward; however, you must remain within 36 meters of a powered structure like Power Poles, buildings, or train rails.

If you venture too far from a power source, you will start to descend—simply hold the jump button to slow your fall and return to the power area. The game provides a white line to indicate the nearest power source, helping you navigate back safely.

To initiate flying, hold the Jump button. You can ascend by continuing to hold Jump, descend by pressing C, and exit hover mode by double-tapping Crouch. You control your movement using the directional keys, and you can even sprint while in the air by holding Shift.

Now that you’re familiar with how to unlock, craft, and utilize the Hoverpack, consider looking into the best alternate recipes or start planning for the Space Elevator.
