As the Straw Hats journey towards Elbaf, significant events have unfolded in the Pirate Seas. With One Piece entering its final saga, fans anticipated clarity regarding the Vegapunk Satellites following the revelations in chapter 1124; new surprises await, as Oda continues to captivate readers.
Chapter 1125 brings shocking moments, including the death of Stussy, the Iron Giant being a World Government research project, and Saint Saturn’s demise at the hands of Imu. A particularly striking revelation is the theft of the Punk Records.
1. What happened to the Vegapunk Satellites?
After escaping Egghead Island, Lilith gained sudden awareness of their circumstances. Overwhelmed with emotion, she cried briefly before shifting her focus and requesting food.
Noticing Luffy’s gloomy demeanor, she attempted to uplift his spirits. She explained that although the Vegapunks were believed to be dead (in the human sense), they remained alive. This understanding allowed her to move on quickly after her emotional outburst.
Technically, the Straw Hats succeeded in their mission because the Vegapunks are not truly lost. Lilith reassured Luffy that he had fulfilled his promise, urging him not to be sad.
The Vegapunks continue to exist as their consciousness is stored in the Punk Records. As long as their bodies can be recreated, their consciousness can be reintroduced, indicating that none of the Vegapunks have genuinely died.
2. How did the Punk Records get stolen?
Edison seized the Punk Records during his maneuver. Despite York’s attempts to protect them, including blowing up the cloud loft machine, her actions inadvertently allowed the Punk Records to ascend from the Labophase.
In the previous chapter, Lilith discovered that the Vegapunks were not truly ‘dead.’ As long as the Punk Records hold their essence, they can theoretically be revived, although it would require time.
Saturn spoke with the nine Vice-Admirals, revealing they had captured York along with the Punk Records and had access to the eternal mother flame.
A mishap in the Lab resulted in the cloud maker machine generating dense clouds, compromising visibility. York, suspecting Edison’s involvement, cursed him for his supposed demise.
In a bid to thwart Edison, she attempted to use her weapon against the cloud machine, but rather than hindering him, she unwittingly enabled his escape with the Punk Records.
With the Vegapunk Satellites unable to be revived without the Punk Records now stolen by Edison, the Straw Hat Pirates must strategize on how to restore the Vegapunks while dealing with traitor York’s plan.
Edison’s theft highlights that ‘thinking’ often surpasses ‘greed’ among the Vegapunks.
