Stranger Things Season 5 Cast Shares Emotional Reactions: “Uncontrollable Crying” During Final Episode

As anticipation builds for Season 5 of Stranger Things, Netflix faces the challenge of delivering a finale that meets fan expectations and unravels the intricate mysteries of the Upside Down.

This task is particularly daunting, given that since its debut in 2016, the series has stood out as a flagship title within Netflix’s extensive library. The cast, who began their journey as children, has matured throughout the series, hinting that the conclusion may evoke intense emotions.

David Harbour has shared insights into Stranger Things Season 5, revealing that the final episode promises to be deeply moving.

“I’m often critical of this show,” he stated during his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “They truly nail the ending, delivering the finest episode they’ve ever crafted.”

He described the profound experience of reading the script for the final episode alongside his fellow cast members, noting that if the stars were emotional, viewers are in for a similar experience.

“During our first reading of the last episode, it was clear that the emotions ran high—about halfway through, people were already in tears,” Harbour recalled. “By the final 20 minutes, the room was filled with uncontrollable sobbing, especially from Noah Schnapp.”

“A significant part of this emotional response comes from the kids’ connection to their childhood,” he continued. “They began this adventure at just 11 or 12 years old, and now, 10 years later, we’re reading the finale. It explores that journey beautifully.”

The growth of the young stars of Stranger Things significantly contributes to the show’s lasting impact. Over the years, many have transitioned into prominent film actors. Notably, Millie Bobby Brown, who was merely 12 when she first portrayed Eleven, recently tied the knot.

“This is an outstanding episode and an incredible season,” Harbour concluded. “I believe you all will cherish it.”
