Where is Stranger Things Season 5 being filmed?
In keeping with the rest of the series, most of Stranger Things Season 5 is being shot in the Atlanta, Georgia region.
This area serves as the backdrop for bringing Hawkins to life. Additionally, other filming spots across Georgia include locations like Jonesboro and Stockbridge.
Hawkins High School
Unfortunately, Hawkins High School, which was situated at 109 South Lee Street in Stockbridge, is facing an uncertain fate.
The structure began its demolition in September, but it’s important to note that this wasn’t planned as part of the storyline. The building was out of commission and was always slated for demolition following the end of its use in production.

Members of the Stranger Things cast, such as Gaten Matarazzo and Finn Wolfhard, have been sighted at this location, confirming that some scenes will occur here (though it’s safe to bet that Eddie Munson won’t be making an appearance).
Hawkins Memorial Hospital
Filming for the Hawkins Memorial Hospital takes place on set at Morgan Memorial Hospital in Madison, GA.
This location will feature multiple scenes throughout Season 5, including suspenseful entrances by various characters; for instance, Robin (Maya Hawke) was spotted racing into the hospital’s entrance.

Both Natalia Dyer and Caleb McLaughlin have also been seen here, suggesting that Max may still be recovering in the hospital following her near-fatal encounter with Vecna in Season 4. With this being the final season, it’s likely that more characters will find themselves in this hospital as the story unfolds.
WSQK Radio Station
Leaked behind-the-scenes photos indicate that WSQK Radio Station will serve as a critical setting for some of this season’s most intense moments. The location is already stirring up various fan theories, including the one suggesting that Steve may meet a tragic fate this season.

Production audio captured at this location included someone shouting, “Steve! You need to run!” —an alarming call that certainly adds a sense of urgency. Cast members like Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton have all been spotted on set here, making it a recurring filming location in the exclusive set built in Chattahoochee Hills, GA.
Hawkins Laboratory
The notorious Hawkins Lab is being filmed at Emory University Briarcliff Campus along Briarcliff Road in Atlanta.
Interestingly, the interior of the lab set has been transformed to resemble the Upside Down, featuring blood-like stains on the walls, hinting at a potential massacre or, alternatively, a journey into the Upside Down for our characters.
Downtown Hawkins
A significant portion of Downtown Hawkins has been recreated at Screen Gems Studios in Atlanta.
Some scenes depict the area looking demolished—perhaps as a result of Vecna’s destruction?
Jackson is still in use, with the crew recently preparing for scenes there, and cast members have been spotted shooting location-specific scenes. A notable military presence suggests that Hawkins’ residents might face some form of oversight.
Numerous cast members, along with background extras, have appeared in this new set, as well as various vehicles driven by the characters.
Creel House
The eerie Creel House, first introduced in Season 4, is an actual location situated in the suburb of Rome, Georgia. If you were to visit, you would witness the house in its full spooky glory. (It was listed for sale in 2022, so if you wanted to buy it, it’s too late now!)
For the playground associated with the Creel family, sightings of a rocket-shaped climbing structure have been reported on a set located in Stockbridge, GA. We can anticipate the Creel House making another appearance, as Jamie Campbell Bower (known as Victor/Vecna) was seen on location along with Nell Fisher, who will portray Holly Wheeler.
Where else is Stranger Things Season 5 filmed?
Stranger Things Season 5 will undoubtedly feature new filming locations as the characters embark on their quest to finally vanquish Vecna.
The cast and crew have been spotted in various other settings, providing hints about possible developments in the concluding season. Notably, a new house set has emerged on Kanawha Dr in Stone Mountain, GA. While it’s not confirmed who resides there, several cast members were detected at this location.
Additionally, signs of the Upside Down, including root-like tendrils and red lighting, were spotted in Stone Mountain Park.
A new farming set has also been filmed in Brooks, GA. Furthermore, church scenes have been captured during production at both Stone Mountain Cemetery and in Newnan, GA, with David Harbour and other cast members present, hinting at potential suspense (or emotional turmoil) within these environments.
