The Mogryph is a colossal, mole-like beast that has the ability to grow wings and create massive tornadoes within the depths of the Gerudo Sanctum. At first, it may appear challenging to find an opportunity to strike, but there’s a clever tactic you can employ to lower its defenses.

Phase One

The battle begins as the Mogryph unleashes waves of sand towards you. Summoning an Echo to assist you during this phase is advisable—a flying Echo is particularly effective, as it can evade the Mogryph’s attacks while dealing damage. Additionally, utilizing Link’s Bow will help land further hits while the creature is distracted and diving into the sand.

As the Mogryph moves around the arena, seize the moment to hide behind one of the four statues present in the room. Wait for it to surface to determine its charge direction. When it charges, the idea is to ensure it crashes into the statue, causing it to writhe in discomfort for a brief period. This is your prime opportunity to strike!

After delivering sufficient blows, the Mogryph will recover, transitioning the fight into the next phase.

Phase Two

During this stage, the Mogryph will extend its wings and ascend, conjuring large tornadoes that will pursue you throughout the arena. These tornadoes must be dodged, not blocked. Utilize the Bow obtained earlier to shoot the Mogryph while it is airborne, taking care to avoid the surrounding tornadoes.

In this phase, he will also initiate a new attack by soaring higher before plunging into the sand. Watch closely for the shadow he casts to predict his landing spot. Evade this attack by moving out of the way as he descends.

After the Mogryph performs these maneuvers, it will dive under the sand to charge again. Unfortunately, the solid ground will transform into quicksand at this phase’s start, causing all other statues to sink. You must swiftly summon your own statue Echo to direct the Mogryph into it before unleashing your attacks.

Consider purchasing Gerudo Sandals from the shop in Gerudo Town for 400 Rupees; these will prevent you from sinking into the quicksand!

Depending on how many hits you managed while the Mogryph was airborne, you may defeat it in this second phase. If not, it will recover and cycle through similar attacks. Fortunately, no new techniques will be introduced. After striking the Mogryph down one or two more times, you’ll achieve victory, completing your adventure in the Gerudo Sanctum Dungeon.
