The Seismic Talus serves as the initial major boss you will confront as Zelda in Echoes of Wisdom. This formidable, rock-based foe is not only large but also possesses a menacing demeanor, and it has ensnared all of Tri’s companions in its rocky grasp. Although the Seismic Talus appears to be invulnerable at first glance, like any enemy, it has its weaknesses.
Where to Find the Seismic Talus in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
The Seismic Talus is the final boss located within the Suthorn Ruins. To locate the entrance of the Suthorn Ruins, head northeast from Suthorn Village and northwest from the Suthorn Forest. This dungeon marks your first exploration in Echoes of Wisdom, but don’t underestimate its challenges. The Suthorn Dungeon includes a variety of enemies and intricate puzzles, standard of any Zelda adventure.
While navigating through the dungeon, you’ll even have to face a shadow Link. Defeating Sword Link can present challenges, but obtaining the Sword is crucial, as it will greatly assist you in the battle against the Seismic Talus.
Essential tools for solving puzzles in this dungeon and ultimately reaching the boss include Tri’s grab ability and Strandtula Echoes. Tri’s grab ability will enable you to move large rocks obstructing your path, while Strandtulas provide an efficient method for reaching elevated areas without the necessity of complex climbing setups!
Seismic Talus Boss Guide
The Seismic Talus has a singular weakness: the small, glowing purple core situated at the base of its rocky form. This is your target.
Phase One
During the first phase of the battle, the Talus’s weak spot will be at the bottom of its body. This area is accessible to most minions you can summon, so you don’t need to fret too much about which Echo Minions can reach it.
The optimal moment to summon a minion is when the Seismic Talus strikes the ground with its massive, rocky hands. Its hands become lodged in the ground briefly after this attack, providing you with the perfect opportunity to summon a minion behind the beast to hit the exposed weak point at its back.
Once you manage to hit the core enough times, the Seismic Talus will shatter, leaving the core vulnerable on the ground. Switch to Swordfighter Mode to slash at the core until the Talus has a chance to regenerate.
Phase Two
In the second phase, the core relocates to the Talus’s left shoulder. This change complicates access for ground-based enemies, so summoning flying foes is advisable. This tactic allows you to inflict damage while the boss maneuvers around the arena.
Just like in Phase One, there is a prime time to target the core. Now, focus on the core when the beast launches its left fist across the arena. While the fist is airborne, the core is fully exposed and can be targeted by either a flying or ground-based Echo.
Phase Three
During the third phase, the core will be positioned atop the Seismic Talus’s head. This elevation allows flying Echoes to land more hits. However, if you’d rather save your Echoes for a stronger minion, you can bide your time for the optimal moment to strike.
The perfect opportunity will arise when the Talus slams its hands down again, similar to the first phase. Although, this time, the core isn’t exposed at the back; it is shielded by the Talus’s large, rocky hands. Since climbing on top of the hands isn’t an option, you must summon an Echo capable of long-range attacks.
A Spear Moblin can deliver a perfect strike on the core from a distance!
Many Echoes may fall victim to the Talus’s various attacks. Stay vigilant and anticipate its movements. The Seismic Talus raises both hands above its head before crashing them down.
Summon your Echo immediately after the initial impact to allow your minion enough time to strike the core before the beast releases its hands. Upon successfully hitting the core enough times, it will implode, freeing Tri’s companions and leaving behind a Heart Container.
