Strategies to Defeat Ganon #1 in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Ganon is the notorious villain in the iconic The Legend of Zelda series, and Echoes of Wisdom continues this tradition. Hyrule is set to endure Ganon’s fury once again, and it falls upon you to save the kingdom by defeating him once and for all—at least until the next installment of the Zelda franchise is released.

Your initial encounter with Ganon occurs right at the start of the game. Facing such a formidable foe in the opening moments can be quite intimidating. If you find yourself struggling against Ganon, here are some strategies to overcome him in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.

Where to Find Ganon in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

While Zelda is the main heroine of Echoes of Wisdom, you will kick off the game as Link, fighting through a mini-dungeon to rescue Zelda. This mini-dungeon serves as a tutorial, familiarizing you with essential game controls such as jumping, attacking, and shield usage.

The mini-dungeon is brief, allowing you to quickly reach both Ganon and Zelda.

How to Defeat Ganon in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Ganon wields a massive, dual-ended spear as his primary weapon. Unfortunately, despite the shield training you’ve received, your shield will not protect you from Ganon’s spear strikes. Instead, you must dodge his attacks and rush in to land some hits before he retracts his weapon and teleports out of reach.

After avoiding several of Ganon’s spear thrusts, he will launch an energy ball in your direction. Instead of dodging this attack, use your sword to strike the energy ball and send it back toward Ganon. He will attempt to hit it back to you.

Continue striking the ball repeatedly until Ganon is eventually hit and falls to the ground. This moment presents an opportunity for you to rush in and slash Ganon with your sword. Repeat this process two to three times, and you will ultimately defeat Ganon. Unfortunately, this also means Link will fall, but it paves the way for you to take on the role of Zelda and embark on your adventure in Echoes of Wisdom.
