During the press conference at Conrad Seoul Grand Ballroom in Yeouido, Seoul on the morning of July 19th, Stray Kids celebrated the launch of their new mini-album “ATE”. They expressed their surprise at the long history between themselves and Ryan, who had mentioned their performances. The group revealed that they had connected through social media and had become close since then.
The title track “Chk Chk Boom”is the latest single from their newest album “ATE”, which follows the highly successful “ROCK-STAR”. This album reached No.1 on the Billboard 200, making it their fourth consecutive album to do so. “Chk Chk Boom”combines powerful lyrics, Latin-inspired hip-hop beats, and a captivating top line.
The music video for the title track stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, known for their roles as “Deadpool”and “Wolverine”respectively. Stray Kids, who first bonded with Reynolds and Jackman during their Deadpool-inspired performance on Mnet’s “Kingdom: Legendary War” in 2021, maintained their close relationship with these renowned actors.
Stray Kids expressed their gratitude, stating, “We were the ones who reached out to collaborate with them. Despite their hectic schedules, they made the effort to work with us. Our connection was made while we were both in the U.S. for different reasons.”Member Seungmin also commented, “It’s almost unbelievable to see us in the same frame on screen. It almost feels like CGI.”
At the same time, the album features eight tracks, including the title track “Chk Chk Boom”, as well as “MOUNTAINS”, “JJAM”, “I Like It”, “Runners”, “twilight”, “Stray Kids”, and “Chk Chk Boom (Festival Ver.)”. The entire production of the album was handled by the group’s in-house production team, 3RACHA, which consists of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han. The official release is set for July 19th at 1 PM (midnight Eastern Time).
