Stray Kids Felix apologizes for his Japanese song challenge on Korea’s Liberation Day: ‘I am deeply reflecting’

On May 15, which marks Korea’s Liberation Day, Felix received backlash and criticism after sharing a “Shikanoko”challenge on Bubble. This prompted the idol to publicly apologize.

According to Korean news outlet Xports News, Felix issued an apology on August 15 for his actions. The Stray Kids member expressed remorse to fans and all those impacted by the incident, before addressing the Bubble controversy that sparked outrage within the K-pop community.

Felix disclosed that he is presently pondering upon his deficiency in historical knowledge. The public figure also assured to expand his understanding and to exercise greater caution in order to avoid similar occurrences in the future. His complete statement can be found below:

“Hello. This is Felix.

First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone, including my fans, who may have been disappointed by my careless actions.

During the early hours of August 15, I mentioned a Japanese song while discussing a short-form challenge with my fans in a personal communication platform.

I sincerely apologize for my lack of prudence and carelessness on this meaningful Independence Day.

I would like to express my sincerest apologies for my lack of consideration and recklessness on such a meaningful occasion as Korea’s National Liberation Day.

I am deeply reflecting on my lack of historical awareness. I will study more in the areas that I usually lack, and I will be careful and careful not to repeat this by thinking and acting.
