Stray Kids Makes History on Billboard 200 with ‘ATE’ Album

In 2024, Stray Kids made history by becoming the first group to have their latest album, “ATE,”make its mark on the Billboard music chart. The achievement was announced by Billboard, causing STAYs to react with overwhelming joy.

Stray Kids released their ninth mini album, ATE, on July 19 featuring the title track “Chk Chk Boom.”In addition to the main song, the album also included side tracks such as “MOUNTAINS,””JJAM,””I Like It,””Runners,””Twilight,””Stray Kids,”and the Festival version of “Chk Chk Boom.”

According to music and entertainment data provider Luminate, Billboard has published a detailed analysis of the results, revealing that “ATE”accumulated 232,000 equivalent album units in the week ending July 25. Of this total, 218,000 were traditional album sales, while the remaining 13,000 were streaming equivalent album units, reflecting a total of 19.05 million audio streams.

In addition, the group amassed 1,000 track equivalent album units. As a result, Billboard announced that Stray Kids has made history as the first group to achieve five consecutive No. 1 debuts on the Top 200 albums chart. They join rapper DMX as the only artists to achieve this feat, with DMX having accomplished it from 1998 to 2003.

Stray Kids recently discussed their collaboration with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on the music video for “Chk Chk Boom.”The group revealed that they initiated the collaboration and were ecstatic to have the opportunity to work alongside the two stars. They also expressed their admiration for being able to share the same space with such renowned actors.

“During our time in the U.S. for other purposes, we formed a connection with them and we are thankful for it,”expressed Stray Kids. “Even when we see ourselves side by side on screen, it’s difficult to comprehend that we are physically present in the same location. It almost feels computer-generated.”
