Streamer Charged with Armed Burglary After Condo Break-In During Hurricane Milton

Kick streamer known as ‘Shoovy’ has been taken into custody for armed burglary and resisting arrest following an incident where he broke into a condominium amid Hurricane Milton.

As Hurricane Milton makes its way along the western coastline of Florida, numerous individuals are garnering attention on social media by posting videos and images after opting not to evacuate the region.

Among those choosing to stay behind is TikTok personality Lieutenant Dan, who is currently residing on his 20-foot sailboat docked in Tampa Bay.

Shoovy arrived in Florida shortly before the onset of the hurricane’s winds and rains, but his adventure took an unexpected turn.

After unlawfully entering an unoccupied condo, he was apprehended by local authorities and subsequently banned from the Kick streaming platform.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reports that Shoovy has been charged with armed burglary and resisting arrest, currently being held on a bond set at $1,000.

This incident occurred just a day after Adin Ross, a co-owner of Kick, announced a $70,000 incentive for anyone willing to IRL stream from a hurricane-affected location during Hurricane Milton.

It remains unclear if Shoovy’s actions were aimed at this prize, as the stream’s video on demand was deleted, but social media users suggest this was his motivation for being in the affected area.

A clip features the streamer discussing his drive, stating he traveled “all day” from Virginia to reach Sarasota.

“Kick streamer ‘Shoovy’ drove all day to get to Florida to do IRL live streaming of Hurricane Milton,” the post reads. “This could be either his final broadcast or the most thrilling one yet. He is determined to win that $70k from Adin Ross.”

Shoovy isn’t alone in his pursuit of Adin’s prize; fellow Kick streamer Mike Smalls is currently live streaming from an air mattress amidst the storm.

This isn’t Mike’s first experience streaming during a hurricane; he gained viral attention on September 27 when he broadcasted live from a beach tent during Hurricane Helene, claiming he ‘almost died’.
