Jack Doherty is facing significant backlash from the streaming community following his permanent ban from Kick, which came after he filmed himself crashing his McLaren while using his mobile phone during a livestream.
On October 5, the controversial streamer was broadcasting live when he was seen engaging with his chat on his device while driving through wet road conditions. Moments later, Doherty lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with the guardrail that severely damaged his luxury car and left his cameraman injured.
This alarming event has resulted in a permanent ban from Kick and ignited outrage among fellow streamers, with several prominent figures voicing their disapproval of Doherty’s actions.
Criticism has been directed at him not only for his dangerous driving while distracted but also for continuing the livestream post-accident. In a particularly shocking moment, he handed the camera to his injured cameraman, urging him to keep filming.
Nadeshot, a prominent Twitch streamer and founder of 100 Thieves, called for legal consequences, stating, “This guy deserves jail time. I honestly couldn’t believe what I witnessed at the end of this video. While I’m not a supporter of cancel culture, this individual needs to be demonetized across all platforms.”
This guy deserves jail time. Honestly couldn’t believe what I watched when I made it to the end of this video. I’m not a fan of cancel culture but this kid needs to be demonetized from every platform imaginable at bare minimum. https://t.co/ZCwHHeO4ZR

Adin Ross also criticized Doherty after viewing the viral incident during his own Kick stream, expressing his disgust over the treatment of the injured cameraman.
“It really upset me that his cameraman got hurt, and then he shoved the camera in the cameraman’s face, saying ‘get the angles.’ Someone find that cameraman; I want to help him,”Ross exclaimed.
The Kick co-owner issued a striking ultimatum to Doherty, demanding $300,000 in cash for his unban, or face an indefinite suspension.

NICKMERCS, who has previously expressed his disapproval of Doherty’s content, responded on his Twitter/X account, quipping, “If there were an Olympic competition for terrible individuals, this fool would be Michael Phelps.”

Following the accident, Jack Doherty shared a brief video update, showing his cameraman Michael receiving stitches at the hospital, who stated he felt “amazing.” However, the comments quickly filled with more criticism directed at Doherty.

Users on Twitter/X responded with scathing remarks, with one stating, “This is called karma; all the horrible things you’ve done to others are coming back to you.” Another user commented harshly, “This kid is the biggest failure of the century. How can someone risk lives for views? Such a loser.” A third chimed in with, “Praying that you face jail time, get sued by the cameraman, and that your insurance denies you help because of the video evidence.”
Doherty has a history of controversy surrounding his content; in August, he received negative feedback for his reckless act of hitting baseballs off a rooftop, which viewers labeled as “disgusting” and “dangerous.”
