Street Dance Manga Wandance to Receive Anime Adaptation

Wandance, a fusion of street dancing and anime, is soon to be revealed by Studio Madhouse, setting a new precedent in the industry.

RIEHATA, known as the ‘Queen of Swag,’ will bring Wandance’s street dancing scenes to life with her expert guidance. Having previously created choreographies for esteemed groups such as EXILE, KAT-TUN, BTS, EXO, and Red Velvet, her involvement guarantees that the anime’s dance sequences will be nothing less than spectacular. Although there is currently no other staff information available, RIEHATA’s participation alone is a positive indication of the anime’s potential quality.

Similar to numerous anime adaptations, Wandance initially originated as a manga series. Drawn by “Coffee”and published in Monthly Afternoon magazine in January 2019, Wandance has since been compiled into 12 volumes and has approximately 900,000 copies in circulation as of today.

Even to those who are not acquainted with Wandance, the manga series serves as the basis for the forthcoming anime adaptation. According to Kodansha, it is a story that strikes a chord with fans of coming-of-age stories such as Blue Period and Your Lie in April, captivating and inspiring readers.
