Aniplex Online Fest 2024 has unveiled numerous exciting anime announcements, including a brand new sci-fi anime from the renowned Madoka Magica studio, SHAFT.
The event showcased a thrilling trailer for an original anime produced by studio SHAFT, celebrated for its work on the popular dark fantasy series Madoka Magica. This upcoming anime film will feature designs and concepts by Yasuomi Umetsu, the director acclaimed for the iconic retro animes Kite and Mezzo Forte.
The first installment, titled Clockwork Girl, is set to premiere at Cine Libre Ikebukuro and Osaka’s Theatre Umeda in early summer 2025. Additionally, Virgin Punk is also expected to release around the same time in Japanese theaters. The studio has also released a captivating trailer, which you can watch below.
This 90-second teaser presents a captivating world set in 2099, following a mysterious girl who finds herself bewildered by her surroundings before making a daring escape. Fans are already buzzing with excitement over the stunning visuals and beautiful animation, praising SHAFT for their artistic prowess.
