On the 2nd, Shin Woosuk, the representative of Studio Dolphin Kidnappers, announced on social media that Ador’s policies have been altered due to changes in their management. Additionally, he stated that at Ador’s request, all music videos and related content created and uploaded by Dolphin Kidnappers, as well as any planned for future release, can no longer be made available to the public.
He elaborated, stating, “Both Dolphin Kidnappers and the Ban Hee-soo YouTube channel are dedicated to showcasing our portfolio and do not generate any income from it.”He added, “The videos and channels were created with the voluntary goal of producing quality content for our fans, and Dolphin Kidnappers does not make any profit from them.”
Shin stated, “Despite Ador’s revised position, it is necessary for all videos to be removed and not disclosed to the public.”
Shin conveyed remorse, acknowledging, “We had committed to carrying out certain projects with the NewJeans members, but it’s regrettable that we are unable to fulfill them,” and “I apologize to the fans who have patiently waited and to the hardworking staff who have dedicated months to this effort.”
Shin, the director of Dolphin Kidnappers, has created music videos for NewJeans including ‘Ditto,’ ‘OMG,’ and ‘ETA.’ While the director’s cut of the ‘ETA’ video was recently posted on their YouTube channel, it was removed on the same day.
Ador responded to the situation by posting a rebuttal on their social media account on the 3rd. They clarified, “The ETA music video director’s cut shared by Dolphin Kidnappers on their SNS channel contained unauthorized edits that did not align with the views of previous advertisers.”The post was made without the consent of the advertisers.
Ador reiterated that, according to the contract between himself and Dolphin Kidnappers, he holds the copyrights to all NewJeans music videos and related works. As such, he emphasized the need for the ETA music video and its edits, including the director’s cut, to be shared on their official channel in order to safeguard the artist’s rights.
Ador clarified that their request to Dolphin Kidnappers was solely to stop posting the director’s cut video and did not include any demands for the deletion or suspension of all NewJeans-related videos or uploads. They also reiterated that their channel operation policy remains unchanged.
Ador expressed disappointment with Shin for disseminating incorrect information regarding Ador’s supposed request for the removal of all NewJeans-related videos. Ador stated, “We are deeply troubled by Dolphin Kidnappers’ breach of contract and dissemination of false information.”Additionally, Ador assured that they will take necessary steps to ensure that the removed NewJeans content is uploaded to Ador’s official channel in the future.
