On Monday, June 10, 2024, Warner Bros. Japan declared that the premiere of its Suicide Squad Isekai anime series, created in collaboration with Wit Studio, will take place earlier in the United States on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Although the exact release time has not been specified, fans can expect three episodes to be released on this date.
The Suicide Squad Isekai anime has been officially announced to consist of ten episodes, with the United States release schedule revealing the airdate for the final episode. Furthermore, several other regions and platforms have also been confirmed to have an early premiere of the series. However, Japan will not be included in this early release, as the Japanese airdate is still set for Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12:30AM Japanese Standard Time (JST).
Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Premieres Early in US on Hulu and Max with First Three Episodes
As stated previously, the release date for the Suicide Squad Isekai anime in the United States has been officially announced for Thursday, June 27, 2024. The show will be available on Max and Hulu, with the first three episodes premiering on the same day and the fourth episode arriving a week later on July 4. Subsequent episodes will follow this pattern until the tenth and final episode is released on Thursday, August 15.
Apart from the United States, numerous other regions will also have the series premiere on the same date. In Korea, the premiere will be available on both Aniplus and Laftel, while ADN will debut the series in France. Additionally, HBO GO will feature the premiere in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. As previously stated, the Japanese release will still take place on Saturday, July 6 at 12:30AM JST on Tokyo MX and BS11, with subsequent streaming on ABEMA, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai.
The anime is a joint project between DC Comics, Warner Bros. Japan, and Wit Studio, featuring characters from the DC Comics Universe as its main cast. These characters are brought into a fantastical world using the common anime trope known as “isekai,”which is the inspiration for the anime’s title.
The cast of the series includes Anna Nagase as Harley Quinn, Yuichiro Umehara as The Joker, Reigo Yamaguchi as Deadshot, Takehito Koyasu as Peacemaker, Jun Fukuyama as Clayface, Subaru Kimura as King Shark, Taku Yashiro as Rick Flag, Kujira as Amanda Waller, Chika Anzai as Katana, Reina Ueda as Fione, Mamiko Noto as Aldora, and Jun Fukushima as Cecil.
Eri Osada is at the helm of the anime, which is being produced by Wit Studio. Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara are the scriptwriters, while manga artist Akira Amano is creating the original character designs. Naoto Hosoda is responsible for designing the animated characters, and Kenichiro Suehiro is composing the music. Shinya Tsuruoku, from Warner Bros. Japan, is serving as the animation producer.
