Sukuna’s Possible Nickname for Yuta and Its Potential Impact on Jujutsu Kaisen’s Storyline

Despite facing countless obstacles, Ryomen Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen has continuously displayed an unbreakable resilience. The Demon King always seems to have a solution, leaving fans to ponder various theories about what may occur in the manga while it is on hiatus.

Recently, there has been a popular topic circulating among fans, which is Sukuna’s nickname for Yuta Okkotsu. This nickname has sparked speculation that it could result in Yuta’s most gruesome death yet. In chapter 248, Sukuna refers to Yuta as his “main dish”, which initially raised confusion as to why he would use such a term for the dark-haired boy.

According to the latest theory, it seems plausible that Sukuna could potentially consume Yuta, resulting in a brutal death and potentially shifting the balance of the battle in his favor.

Please note: This article is based on speculation.

In chapter 248 of Jujutsu Kaisen, during his fight with Yuji Itadori, Sukuna predicted that Yuta would arrive to assist his allies. Based on this prediction, he anticipated that Yuta would pose a greater challenge and even referred to him as his “main course”. However, this theory suggests that there may be a deeper significance behind Sukuna’s words.

The hypothesis suggests that at some point, Sukuna may consume Yuta. Additionally, the extra mouth on his abdomen will serve this purpose, as well as being utilized for chanting.

According to theorists, his Domain Expansion was translated as Malevolent Kitchen (Fukuma Mizushi). Upon closer examination, Fukuma can be translated as Pandemonium, a place associated with demons. Mizushi is an outdated term for the area where an Emperor’s meals are cooked and prepared. Additionally, Zushi can also refer to a miniature Buddhist shrine used to house important items such as sutras.

Themes of Cannibalism

It is now understood that in Jujutsu Kaisen, Cursed Techniques (CTs) are contained within a “Black Box”and can be acquired by consuming Cursed Objects or body parts. This concept is symbolic of cannibalism, a recurring theme in the series. Moving forward, this is the accepted explanation for the acquisition of new techniques.

For example, Yuji has been forced to ingest Sukuna’s fingers, Yuta’s Cursed Spirit Rika utilizes consumption to mimic techniques, Suguru Geto employed Cursed Spirit Manipulation through consuming Cursed Spirits, and so on. Additionally, it appears that the author attempts to emphasize this theme – Yuji viewed films such as Deep Blue Sea and The Descent.

Continuing on, this theory about Jujutsu Kaisen further suggests that Sukuna’s tattoos have a deeper purpose beyond mere decoration. They play a crucial role in his powers, allowing him to seal and hold his Cursed Tools, such as Kamutoke, Hiten, and Divine Flames, which they seem to symbolize. Given Sukuna’s current precarious condition, it is possible that he may disclose a hidden Cursed Tool.

All of the hints mentioned thus far pertain to cooking and dining. Furthermore, the sequence of his techniques also suggests food preparation. Cleave and Dismantle involve cutting or chopping the food, Divine Flames cook it in its entirety, and Hiten acts as a large fork. Considering this, it does make sense to theorize about this point in the given context.

According to the Jujutsu Kaisen fan book, the theory also suggests that there is a fascinating connection between Yuji and Sukuna: their shared love for food and cooking. It is said that Sukuna, who is known for consuming people, greatly enjoys eating and considers it his favorite pastime. This may explain why he kept Uraume by his side for an extended period of time, as they are skilled in the art of cooking and preparing flesh for their master.

According to Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami, Yuji has a passion for cooking and is the most skilled out of the first-year trio. He even taught Megumi Fushiguro how to make meatballs at one point. Yuji has also expressed his willingness to eat anything in order to defeat Sukuna. This highlights his determination and fearlessness in battle.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that neither of them have a moral objection to consuming human body parts in order to further their goals. This is supported by the fact that Yuji previously consumed his Death Painting brothers, resulting in him gaining new abilities such as Blood Manipulation.

Finally, the editor’s feedback for chapter 119 of Jujutsu Kaisen stated “A successful demise begins with meticulous planning.”

This theory has also piqued the interest of the Jujutsu Kaisen library of speculations. Its intricate details are captivating as it connects the pieces together. Considering Sukuna’s current condition, it would not be surprising if he ultimately decides to consume Yuta, who is currently inhabiting Gojo’s body.

Despite having a strong motive, he would still hesitate to eliminate Gojo’s body at this moment. By doing so, he would prevent the Jujutsu High sorcerers from continuously utilizing its terrifying capabilities, giving him an advantage in the upcoming battle. However, this is only a theory and readers will have to be patient and wait for the release of chapter 262 to learn more.
