Summer Invitational for COD Mobile 2023: Format, Timetable, and More

Recently, it was revealed by Tencent Games and Garena that the COD Mobile Summer Invitational 2023 will start on May 25. There will be 18 Asian teams competing, including two teams from Japan, eight from China, and eight from the SEA Garena division. Given that the December 2023 World Championship Finals are planned, the tournament provides a fantastic venue for teams and players to demonstrate their skills.

The Sniper Challenge, which will include 32 players including 14 from China, 14 from the Garena area (SEA), and 4 from Japan, will also take place at the tournament. On May 27 and 28, this competition will take held, providing spectators with a tense battle as well.

Format for the 2023 COD Mobile Summer Invitational

Play-Ins, Group Stage, and Knockouts are the three phases that the team competition will be divided into. On May 25 and 26, four Chinese teams will compete against four Garena regional teams in the Play-Ins, with the top two teams moving on to the Group Stage.

From May 31 to June 11, 12 teams will advance from the Play-In stage to the Group Stage. These teams will come from several regions, including four each from China, Garena, Japan, and the Play-Ins.

The top four teams from each group advance to the Knockout stage after the 12 teams are randomly split into two groups. The Call of Duty Mobile Summer Invitational will only include the top four teams (two from each group).

From June 16 through June 25, there will be eight teams competing in the 10-day Knockouts stage for the championship. In the second phase’s winner bracket, which includes only the top two teams from each group, the remaining teams will be placed. Weihai City, in Shandong Province, will serve as the venue for the semifinal and championship rounds.

With a prize pool of about $65K, the COD Mobile Fall Invitational was co-hosted by Garena and Tencent in 2022. In November, eight teams from China and the Garena region competed, with the Indonesian team ALMGHTY winning after defeating China’s Qing Jiu Club in the Grand Finals. The inclusion of teams from Japan this year will make the Call of Duty Mobile Summer Invitational even more competitive.

There will be two stages—Qualifiers and Knockouts—in the COD Mobile Summer Invitational’s Sniper Challenge. The first round will seed a total of 32 players into four groups, with the top 16 moving on to the knockout rounds.
