Sung Jinwoo’s Attire in Solo Leveling Season 2 Key Visual Confirms Jeju Island Arc Adaptation

On September 16, 2024, key visuals for Solo Leveling season 2 were revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest announcement, showcasing the protagonist, Sung Jinwoo, alongside his shadow army. Although the specific arcs that will be adapted in this season remain undisclosed, Jinwoo’s attire suggests that the highly anticipated Jeju Island arc might be included in this adaptation.

This arc commences from the 100th chapter of the manhwa, and since the anime has only adapted up to the 45th chapter, it raises the possibility that Solo Leveling season 2 could be a two-cour series, thus paving the way for the adaptation of the Jeju Island arc.

How Sung Jinwoo’s Outfit in Solo Leveling Season 2 Visual Hints at the Adaptation of the Jeju Island Arc

The latest visual for Solo Leveling season 2 features Sung Jinwoo prominently, flanked by his shadow army, including Igris, the first high-level shadow he resurrected upon acquiring his Necromancer powers, along with several smaller shadows that were also resurrected.

A notable detail from this visual is Jinwoo’s long hooded jacket that reaches his knees. For those familiar with the manhwa, this specific outfit is an iconic look from the Jeju Island arc. This detail might suggest that the upcoming season will depict this fan-favorite arc, where the protagonist battles monstrous insects alongside other hunters.

After revisiting the Demon Castle and obtaining the last element needed for the Elixir of Life, Jinwoo successfully brings his mother back from eternal slumber. Following this resurrection, he takes a break from his hunter duties to spend some time with family. However, a crisis arises as monstrous ants begin to attack hunters.

In response to the chaos, Jinwoo leaves his family and travels to Jeju Island, the chaos’s epicenter. There, he witnesses the devastation caused by the ants as they consume humans alive and create havoc. To combat this, he mobilizes his shadow army to aid the other hunters.

The Jeju Island arc is especially renowned for the intense showdown between Jinwoo and a boss ant. Following a fierce battle, Jinwoo commands the ant as his shadow and names it Beru, which eventually becomes one of his most formidable shadows.

Final Thoughts

The first season of Solo Leveling adapted the initial seven arcs of the manhwa in just 12 episodes. This rapid pacing indicates that the anime adaptation differs significantly from the original manhwa. While the first season adapted 45 chapters of source material, the Jeju Island arc starts from chapter 100, suggesting that it may exceed a single season’s limit.

Consequently, Solo Leveling season 2 is likely to be a two-cour series, potentially featuring around 24 episodes, encompassing the Red Gate arc (as indicated in promotional trailers) and transitioning to the Jeju Island arc in the second cour.
