Sunwoo Jung-a Commends IU: “Warm and Kind, Directing Her was a Joy”

On October 31, the talented Sunwoo Jung-a made a guest appearance on the “Jae Friends” YouTube channel.

During the episode, Kim Jaejoong expressed his amazement upon discovering that Sunwoo Jung-a was the creative force behind 2NE1’s track “It Hurts.” Sunwoo shared, “At that period, I was heavily influenced by Alicia Keys, and I composed the song while channeling that vibe on the piano. The arrangement incorporated an R&B style, and the lyrics were penned by the co-producer, which greatly enhanced my understanding of mainstream music appeal.” She even showcased her rendition of “It Hurts” during the segment.

Sunwoo Jung-a identified IU as the artist who has left the most significant mark on her. When asked about the standout qualities, she mentioned, “Her warmth? It’s the genuine kindness she extends to others. She embodies kindness.” She further elaborated, “I tend to struggle with that. I can come off as curt, and if someone doesn’t resonate with me, I struggle to be kind. I see it as a flaw, but IU, despite being younger, is kind to everyone. She really is extraordinary.”

Reflecting on her experience directing IU, Sunwoo stated, “I felt immense joy. She’s incredibly expressive due to her acting skills. If you ask her to portray a ‘refined house cat’, she nails it perfectly, and if you request a gentle smile, she emits this sweet, smiling sound.”

Moreover, Sunwoo Jung-a revealed her admiration for Seo In-guk, admitting, “I unintentionally became a fan and was inspired to write and release a song for him. Seo In-guk even allowed the use of his likeness in the music video.”
