Super Junior Ryeowook Addresses Criticism Over Dating and Weight Gain
On April 18, the web community theqoo was abuzz with discussions about second-generation K-pop icon Ryeowook, after a user shared the idol’s response to an ELF who had given unsolicited advice.
Specifically, the original poster (OP) posted screenshots featuring a comment from an ELF that could be considered hostile towards the idol, as well as the celebrity’s response to the fan in question. The individual in question who wrote the comment identified themselves as a “fan.”
“Ryewook~ah~ please go on a diet. Are you unable to manage yourself because you are dating? Why are you making money from fans then? Just leave the [group] and open a café with your girlfriend. I’m a fan of ten years and this is just so pathetic.”
As per the netizens, the “fan”did not seem to show any concern in their tone. Instead, it was perceived as extremely rude and malicious towards Ryewook.
Despite being known for his sharp tongue and unfiltered words, the icon wasted no time in hitting back at the self-proclaimed fan.
“Ah, so I looked pathetic to you. You also look really pathetic to me. I can’t believe you like me for 10 years. It’s scary. Because to me, it looks like you didn’t really like me for 10 years but rather, you liked the thought of you liking someone. I hope you look upon yourself.”
Continuing, he stated:
“And also, I earned money not because of you. I earned it due to my hard work. You won’t be able to imagine all the moments of how hard I worked for my path.
Don’t talk recklessly. Don’t live your life hurting someone else. It’s such a waste of energy. Don’t love anyone either. Live alone forever. Just don’t harm anyone.”

When the post was shared, it received more than 81.7k views and people immediately showed their support for Ryeowook.
