After getting our initial glimpse of David Corenswet in the lead role, it seems that the cast may have some other well-known names in store. A recently released set photo of Gunn and his team reveals a surprise appearance from Marvel favorite Chris Pratt.
The DC rumor mill has predictably gone into overdrive, causing fans to question whether the former Guardians of the Galaxy actor will be leaving to join the competing franchise.

A fan on Reddit confidently predicted that Chris Pratt would be cast as Batman, despite it not being their top choice. They had a feeling that filmmaker James Gunn wanted Pratt to play a significant role in the movie.
A second person also commented, saying, “So, he’s going to be the voice of Superman, right?”Meanwhile, a third individual pondered, “Wow, he’s going to be turned into a Lego character as well?”
“I have a strong dislike for that guy. Hopefully, he will not be in the movie,”a fourth person expressed.
The recently released photo has prompted many inquiries about Pratt’s role in Superman, but it has also raised another question – is his companion, Gunn, aiding him in kickstarting his directing career? With his own DC universe in development, it is possible that Pratt will benefit from the best of both worlds.

According to one Redditor, he is most likely there as a friend and possibly a fan of Superman. It would not be unexpected if he were to be cast in a role in the DC Universe.
Despite the current lack of information on Pratt’s role in Gunn’s Superman, it is still possible that he may be involved in the project. However, we will have to wait for some time before a definite answer is revealed, as there are numerous DC films and TV series set to premiere before Superman’s release.
Superman’s highly anticipated arrival in theaters is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
