Supernova (Super Smash Con 2024): Ultimate & Melee Streams, Schedule, Players, and More

Supernova 2024 is anticipated to be an incredibly exciting Super Smash Bros tournament, with top players from both Ultimate and Melee competing for the title.

In order to avoid any possible copyright conflicts with Nintendo, the popular tournament known as Super Smash Con has been rebranded as Supernova, but it continues to be held as usual.

The Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly will host the four-day event from August 8 to August 11.

There is an abundance of talent and intense rivalries to look forward to on the Ultimate side. The reigning champion and Steve main Acola has returned to the US, where he will face off against his biggest rival from Japan, Miya. FaZe Sparg0 will also be vying for his first SSC victory, but he will have to outperform his North American counterpart, Sonix.

Regarding Sonix, the Lumonisity star is aiming for his first tournament victory of the year after placing second in every major competition he has participated in.

The event will also showcase well-known players such as Tweek, Zomba, Hurt, Shadic, and others who have won major tournaments in 2024, adding to the high level of competition and making it a truly global event.

Despite the absence of Zain, the Melee side is still filled with top contenders. Cody Schwab, Mang0, jmook, Hungrybox, plup, and moky will all be competing for the crown.

Similarly to other Super Smash Cons, the event will also showcase lesser-known games in the Smash franchise, hosting smaller tournaments for Smash 64, Brawl, and Smash 4 on Wii U.
