Supervisor Claims WINNER’s Mino is Psychologically Unstable and Unfit for Service

On December 19, Supervisor A, who leads the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility that oversees Winner’s Mino (Song Min-ho), participated in an interview with StarNews, shedding light on the idol’s military service situation.

During the discussion, A revealed, “I interacted with Song Mino at least once daily to check his attendance and have him sign off. However, since I manage multiple responsibilities, there were occasions where I couldn’t verify his presence in the morning.”

A highlighted that as early as March or April, Mino was classified as unfit for alternative service. He received a Grade 4 supplementary service classification, attributed to his battles with panic disorder and bipolar disorder, and has been undergoing treatment since.

Further elaborating on the situation, A stated, “After discussions with the Military Manpower Administration (MMA), we agreed that an early discharge due to his unfit status was justified. The MMA supported this recommendation. It is worth noting that similar cases have seen individuals discharged after only two months. Nevertheless, Mino chose to endure his service period, driven by a strong commitment to his career as a performer.”

In light of recent allegations regarding his service, Mino took sick leave on December 18 and 19. Supervisor A expressed concern for Mino’s well-being, stating, “It has been challenging for him to maintain a normal life. He experiences cycles of emotional highs and lows, with particularly severe episodes in February and April. He is psychologically unstable and, according to his manager, has been hospitalized.”

Notably, Mino began his alternative service with the Mapo Facilities Management Corporation in March 2023 and subsequently transferred to the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility in the same month. Supervisor A clarified that the transfer was executed correctly and without any special treatment: “Social service workers often change workplaces following counseling sessions. Song requested the transfer due to difficulties in adjusting to his new supervisor and the challenges related to his mental health.”

Mino is slated to complete his service and be discharged by December 23. However, the MMA is currently reviewing his attendance records. Should any discrepancies surface, there is a chance that his service duration may be extended.

Additionally, Mino was recently accused of failing to fulfill his military duties, following which reports emerged about his two-year relationship with actress Park Ju-hyun, capturing public interest.
