Surprising Gen 6 Pokemon Card May Impact Gameplay in Stellar Miracle

The highly anticipated Pokemon TCG Stellar Miracle is set to release in Japan on July 19, 2024, and we are currently in the midst of the reveal season for this thrilling expansion set.

The official Japanese Pokemon TCG YouTube channel has been consistently revealing new cards, making it an exciting time for Pokemon card collectors. The recent reveal of the Lapras and Terapagos cards, both with the powerful Stellar Tera-type, has gotten the community hyped up about the possibility of new decks.

The newest addition to the official Stellar Miracle collection, a quartet of cards, appears to have a significant impact. Included in this line-up are the often overlooked Fletchling evolutionary line and an intriguing item, making it essential to monitor these cards upon their release.

Gravity Stone (95/102), Talonflame (085/102), Fletchling (083/102), and Fletchinder (084/102) Pokemon cards.

Thanks to translations provided by PokeBeach, it is evident that these cards have a strong focus on Retreat Cost, making it challenging for opponents to maneuver their Pokemon. The only card that deviates from this theme is Fletchinder, which boasts a standard 50 damage Attack that is not related to Retreat Cost.

Despite its portrayal as a weak Basic Pokemon, Fletchling possesses surprising strength. Its Send Back attack may only deal 10 damage, but it has the ability to switch any of the opponent’s Benched Pokemon into the Active Position. This move, requiring only one Energy, packs quite a punch.

Talonflame is an incredibly fascinating Stage 2 Pokemon that brings a lot to the table. One of its standout moves is Aero Chase, which only requires 2 Energy and deals a base 110 damage. If the opposing Pokemon’s Retreat Cost is 2 Energy or higher, it deals an additional 110 damage.

While it may seem unconventional to target Pokemon with high Retreat Costs, this is where Gravity Stone becomes useful. When equipped to the Active Pokemon, this tool raises the Retreat Cost of all Pokemon in play by 1 Energy, potentially allowing for 220 damage if Talonflame is currently in play.

The upcoming release of Stellar Miracle has the potential to greatly enhance the power of these cards, making it intriguing to witness how players incorporate them into their decks. A popular recommendation that has already been shared on fan forums is to include these cards in Spidops ex decks for optimal synergy.

This exclusive collection is being released shortly after the Stellar Miracle set and is shaping up to be a must-have for avid Pokemon card collectors.
