Suzy’s Outstanding Reputation in the Acting Industry: “Like Having an Extra Staff Member”

On October 9, director Jang Hang-jun shared his insights regarding actors with impressive personalities during a YouTube video session. In this discussion, he highlighted a number of talents he has collaborated with, known for their admirable character.

At one point, he was asked an anonymous question: “Who are the top three actors with the best personalities that you’ve encountered?” After a moment of reflection, Jang identified Ahn Jae-hong, Kang Ha-neul, and Suzy, choosing not to rank them.

Jang elaborated on his choice of Ahn Jae-hong, mentioning, “Ahn Jae-hong has an excellent rapport with the crew. While shooting in Andong for an extended period, I often noticed him enjoying leisurely walks on his days off. He exudes a quiet and introspective vibe, which is truly charming and delightful. He’s the kind of person you can easily enjoy being around, no matter the setting.”

Song Eun-yi, who was also present during the discussion, concurred with Jang’s sentiments, stating, “I’ve observed Ahn Jae-hong on set several times. Although he may be shy, he possesses a sharp wit and has a knack for making those around him feel at ease.”

When discussing Kang Ha-neul, Jang noted, “Typically, actors prefer to stay in their vehicles during breaks, but Ha-neul is different. He enjoys engaging in conversations with the lunch truck staff. He genuinely loves being in the company of others.”

Finally, Jang brought up Suzy, beginning with, “Although I’ve only had a brief encounter with her…”

He went on to commend her by saying, “Her standing within the industry is exceptional. Colleagues adore working with her. It’s almost as if she acts like an additional member of the crew. Such demeanor is quite rare among actresses.”

Song Eun-yi also shared a memorable experience, revealing, “I have played tennis with Suzy a few times. On one occasion, I returned to the court and discovered air coolers that had not been there before. Suzy had generously donated four air coolers so players could stay cool during the hot summer months.”

Jang added further praise for Suzy, stating, “I had the privilege of observing her closely, and I was impressed by her remarkable willingness to listen.”
