On June 21st, Netflix released the teaser poster and teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Season 3 of “Sweet Home.”The show depicts a world on the verge of a new era, as the process of monsterization nears its end. It showcases the intense and desperate battle of those caught in the uncertain realm between monsters and humans.
The recently revealed teaser poster features Song Kang (Hyun-soo) as the focal point in a post-apocalyptic world where a monsterization crisis has ravaged the land. With a monstrous wing behind him, and surrounded by a damaged concrete wall and debris from destroyed buildings, the poster raises anticipation for Song Kang’s powerful return and prompts viewers to wonder whether he will be able to break free from the monster’s grasp and reclaim his humanity. The tagline “The final battle to protect everyone”only adds to the curiosity surrounding Song Kang’s choices as he navigates the emergence of new humans, monsters, and special infectees.
The teaser trailer opens with Lee Jin-wook (Sang-wook) and his followers arriving at the survivors’ base, the stadium. Lee Jin-wook addresses the survivors, introducing himself and his group and requesting their cooperation. This is a stark contrast to the past, where symptomatic individuals were restricted. The survivors are thrown into confusion by the radical conditions offered by Lee Jin-wook’s group. The trailer then shows Go Min-si (Eun-yoo) and Jin Young (Chan-young) facing off against monsters in the unsafe stadium and the dangerous outside world. This foreshadows the harsh reality that the survivors will have to confront. The scenes of people being sucked into cocoons and cocoons hanging everywhere
Additionally, the statement made by Song Kang, “I will find a way out, and this time I will truly defeat them,”while standing alongside Lee Do-hyun (Eun-hyuk) and confronting Lee Jin-wook, heightens anticipation for the new layers of Lee Do-hyun’s character that will be unveiled and the resolution of their prolonged and seemingly never-ending conflict.
After the introduction of K-creature horror through monsters born from desires in Season 1, and the expansion of the universe in Season 2 by showcasing humans surviving the prolonged monsterization crisis, “Sweet Home” Season 3 will conclude with the emergence of a new humanity. The series will be available on Netflix starting July 19th.
