Mobapad, a company specializing in Switch accessories, has shared purported information about the highly anticipated Switch 2, including some highly requested features.
The anticipation for Nintendo’s upcoming major console reveal continues to grow, leading to a flurry of rumors and leaks. Among these, Switch accessory maker Mobapad has provided some highly credible leaks, shedding light on what we can anticipate from the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
The leaks, which were shared on Mobapad’s Facebook and Billibilli pages, provide valuable information about the anticipated features of the Switch 2. These leaks appear to verify that the upcoming console will retain the Switch’s hybrid design, offering both handheld and docked modes.
The recent discussion surrounding Joy-Cons has revealed an intriguing detail – the use of an electromagnet to connect to the console. This further supports earlier speculations about this particular feature. Along with this, the new Joy-Cons are rumored to be bigger in size and have a greater emphasis on ergonomics. The design alterations do not end there, as the leaked information suggests that the SL and SR buttons will have a metallic appearance and there will be a new button on the back of each Joy-Con, as well as underneath the Home button.
Many Nintendo fans have been eagerly anticipating the addition of backwards compatibility as a feature. They will be pleased to hear that the upcoming Switch 2 will be able to play Switch 1 carts. However, it should be noted that the Switch 2 cartridges will have a slightly different shape and will not be compatible with the Switch 2 cartridge slot.
Furthermore, the Switch 2’s Bluetooth chip will remain compatible with current Joy-Con and Pro controllers, while also retaining the capability for HD vibration through the use of an ALPS dual-axis linear motor.
The USB-C port for power will remain a feature of the Switch 2 dock, and it will also support up to 4K video output. In handheld mode, it is rumored that the screen will be enlarged to 8 inches and have a resolution of 1080p for users to enjoy. Additionally, the kickstand has been redesigned to include a damping bracket, allowing for improved angle adjustment.
Despite not being officially announced by Nintendo, it is important to take this information with a bit of skepticism.
