Switch 2: New Data Leak Reveals Big RAM Upgrade

As excitement for the upcoming Nintendo console grows, a leaked report suggests that the Switch 2 will feature a notable increase in RAM.

Despite Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa’s confirmation that the Switch 2 will not be revealed this Summer, anticipation has been growing among the community.

A recent leak indicates there is cause for enthusiasm, as a significant performance boost is expected due to a RAM enhancement.

Despite being widely known within the gaming community, there is still a significant amount of information that has yet to be revealed about the Switch 2, such as its precise design.

The findings from Famiboards’ shipment and customs data have provided us with further evidence, suggesting that the Switch 2 may come with 12GB of RAM.

The Famiboards forums were responsible for collecting the data, with user LiC reporting that The Switch 2 is equipped with two 6GB LPDDR5 RAM modules, resulting in a total of 12GB of RAM. Additionally, the internal storage is rumored to be 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

This is a significant upgrade compared to the measly 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM currently found in the Switch. Additionally, the boost in storage from 32GB to 256GB is highly beneficial, as it allows for the installation of more games without the need for an extra Micro SD Card.

Until Nintendo officially reveals the specifications, this information should be considered unconfirmed.
